Starting Monday July 31, 2023, the Somerset Spray Park will be closed for up to four days, for some safety repairs. With the hot, busy summer season we’ve observed an increase in slips and trips at the spray park and in an abundance of caution the City of Calgary will be applying some additional grit to the spray park surface to help everyone stay safe when enjoying the park. The repair is being planned during the week to allow time for surfaces to dry and cure so we can reopen for the weekend. Signage will be set up on site notifying community members of this. You can also visit Calgary.ca/sprayparks to check on the status of the reopening. Additional social media posts are also planned for this weekend to spread the word.
